Barbara Benz selected tasteful colours and amply used natural materials as the ingredients of the new StadtCAFÉ of Herrenberg.
Café Coc
The rustic smells drifting from the new bakery by Eberhard Seeger attracts countless bon vivants to the old town of Herrenberg, Auf dem Graben 16. Visitors of Café Coc will however not just move on after buying a bag of “Breedle”. This is a place to spend some time. At the untreated oak-wood tables, on the comfortable leather couches and the colourful Vitra chairs, or in the orange-coloured lounge corner with a view of the carefully exposed natural stone.
Here, elegant mirrors with a hazy flow hanging in front of the historic wall draw the attention. Colourful Birdie lamps by Foscarini create playful light accents on the wall and ceiling. Barbara Benz and her team created the harmonious interior for the successful confectioner. Before they joined the redesign project, Seeger – who had already enjoyed 30-year-long success with his experience bakery/daily café concept – had already done great groundwork. The venerable building in the city’s historic district was already excellently renovated together with the architect Harald Brenner.
Barbara Benz added a mosaic floor from cement tiles – traditionally hand-made in an Andalusian manufactory – as a complementary highlight. The colours and patterns were specially matched to the natural colour tones of the interior. Earthy colour nuances, natural wood, leather, and fancy furniture dominate the various café, lounge, and bistro areas. Another lounge in the historic vaulted cellar offers a great décor for events and cultivated clubbing. A cultivated city café? More than that. Gastronomy to experience and interior decoration à la carte!
