Rubellis have been decorating buildings with incomparable woven brocades, damasks, lampas fabrics, velvet and silk, for more than 125 years. From the Doge palace in Venice to the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, where the gold-threaded stage curtain was created on the hand looms of this fabric maker.
As a result, the archives of this Venetian family business resemble a stylistic evidence room. At the Architecture Biennale in Venice the traditional business exhibited a head office in a style contemporary to that of the Palazzo Corner Spinelli: with over-sized designs, zoomed-in landscapes and repeating patterns scaled from mini to maxi. architare is now exhibiting the essence of the most exciting novelties on its floors, on the trail of the textures of Venice, among them such iridescent new designs like Tironco or Semper Augustus.
