1928

The 2 Armchair Grand Confort, petit mod è le by Cassina was designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand and is now considered an icon of modern furniture design. The armchair was specially designed for comfortable conversation and embodies the principles of rationalism. The independence of the metal frame and cushions as well as the separation between the parts follow the logic of industrial production and are based on the architectural relationship between the supporting structure and the brick lining. The armchair was exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1929 and is considered an archetype of the modern conception of furnishings, understood by the designers as “household objects” this timeless design endures to this day and is very popular with design lovers around the world.
